On this Bible Basics page you will find resources to help you get started in your reading, understanding and study of the Bible.

Bible Timeline – Provides an overview of the main events in biblical history and their probable dates.
List of Bible Books – Provides a handy table showing the names of each book of the Bible. The table is divided between the 39 books of the Old Testament and the 27 books of the New Testament.
Bible Reading Plans – For those who still desire a printed Bible reading plan, this page contains links to several plans.
Synopsis of Bible Books – Provides a summary or synopsis of the main themes and content of each book of the Bible. These in turn are divided between the 39 books of the Old Testament and the 27 books of the New Testament. (This is a work in progress.)
Bible Summary – Summarizes the entire content of the Bible into one easy-to-understand and easy-to-memorize sentence. This sentence serves as the overall theme of the Bible, highlighting the Bible’s protagonists, purposes and overall story.
Overview of the Bible – Simple online Bible course that explains the main storyline of the Bible in greater detail. When you understand the Bible as a story, you will have a framework to help you understand all of the individual figures, stories, themes or books of the Bible.
